V519 OBD2 Scanner — Find Out Why Your Check Engine Light Is On
Know what your car's diagnostic system is reporting. The Veltrixa Auto V519 is a handheld OBD2 code reader designed to read supported engine fault codes, display live data, and help you investigate a check engine warning without needing a phone app.
Plug it into your vehicle's compatible diagnostic port, read the available information, and use the results to make a more informed decision about your next step.
✅ Read supported engine fault codes
✅ View live engine data and freeze-frame information
✅ Check emissions readiness status
✅ Clear supported fault codes after repairs
✅ Standalone handheld design — no phone app or Bluetooth pairing required
⚠️ IMPORTANT: CHECK COMPATIBILITY BEFORE ORDERING
The V519 is designed for compatible vehicles with an OBD-II/EOBD diagnostic port. It focuses on engine and emissions diagnostics and is not a manufacturer-specific diagnostic tool.
It is not intended to replace professional diagnostic equipment for ABS, airbag, transmission or other manufacturer-specific systems.
The Check Engine Light Is On. What Now?
A check engine light can appear for many reasons, from relatively minor issues to problems that need prompt attention.
Without reading the stored diagnostic code, you may have little information about what triggered the warning.
The V519 OBD2 Scanner gives you a practical starting point.
Connect it to your vehicle's diagnostic port to read supported fault codes and view available engine data. You can then research the codes, discuss them with a mechanic, or investigate the issue further.
Instead of guessing, start with the information your car provides.
Important: A diagnostic code identifies a detected condition or potential problem. It does not always identify the exact failed component or confirm what repair is required.
Why Choose the V519 OBD2 Scanner?
1. Read Engine Fault Codes
Retrieve supported diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored by your vehicle's engine computer.
Use the codes to help understand what the vehicle has detected and determine whether further investigation is needed.
2. View Live Engine Data
Monitor available engine readings through the scanner's live data function.
Live data can provide useful information when investigating certain engine-related issues. The available readings depend on your vehicle and the scanner's supported functions.
3. Review Freeze-Frame Information
Where supported, freeze-frame data records a snapshot of vehicle operating conditions associated with a fault.
This information can help you or your mechanic understand the circumstances in which the code was recorded.
4. Check Emissions Readiness
Use the I/M readiness function to check the status of supported emissions monitors.
This can be useful when preparing for an emissions inspection or checking whether the vehicle's monitoring system has completed its required checks.
5. Clear Supported Fault Codes
After the underlying problem has been properly diagnosed and repaired, the scanner can clear supported stored codes.
Clearing a code does not repair the fault. If the problem remains, the warning may return.
Clearing codes can also reset emissions readiness monitors, which may need a drive cycle to complete again.
6. Standalone Operation
The V519 is designed as a handheld diagnostic reader rather than a phone-connected dongle.
There is no Bluetooth pairing or wireless connection to configure. You use the scanner's screen and buttons to access its supported functions.
Confirm the supplied model's power specifications before ordering.
7. Compact, Handheld Design
Its handheld format makes it convenient to keep with your automotive tools for occasional diagnostic checks.

How to Use the V519 OBD2 Scanner
Getting started is straightforward, provided your vehicle is compatible.
Step 1 — Locate the diagnostic port
Find your vehicle's OBD-II port. It is commonly a 16-pin connector beneath the dashboard, often on the driver's side, although its location varies.
Step 2 — Connect the scanner
With the ignition off, connect the scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port, following the supplied instructions.
Step 3 — Switch on the ignition
Turn the ignition to the position specified in the manual. Start the engine only if the scanner instructions require it.
Step 4 — Read the codes
Select the appropriate diagnostic function, such as Read DTC, to retrieve supported stored fault codes.
Step 5 — Record the results
Write down the codes before clearing anything. Review the available live data or freeze-frame information if it is relevant to the problem.
Step 6 — Investigate the fault
Use the information to research the issue or consult a qualified mechanic. A code alone may not establish the exact cause.
Step 7 — Recheck after repairs
Once the fault has been diagnosed and repaired, follow the vehicle and scanner instructions to clear the code if appropriate. Recheck the vehicle to see whether the warning returns.
⚠️ Safety note: Never clear codes simply to conceal a fault. If the check engine light flashes, this can indicate a serious problem, such as an engine misfire. Reduce driving and seek prompt professional advice.
Check Compatibility Before You Buy
The V519 is intended for compatible OBD-II/EOBD vehicles. Compatibility can vary according to the vehicle's market, model year, engine and supported diagnostic protocols.
Before ordering, consider the following.
Does Your Vehicle Have an OBD-II/EOBD Port?
Many modern petrol and diesel vehicles support standardised OBD-II/EOBD diagnostics, but requirements and implementation vary between markets and models.
Older vehicles may not be compatible.
Check your vehicle's documentation or contact us before purchasing if you are unsure.
Do You Drive a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle?
Some hybrid vehicles support standard engine-related OBD-II diagnostics, but the available functions vary.
Fully electric vehicles do not have conventional combustion-engine diagnostics, and this scanner should not be purchased on the assumption that it can diagnose their battery, motor or other vehicle-specific systems.
Please confirm compatibility before ordering for a hybrid vehicle.
What Systems Do You Need to Diagnose?
The V519 is designed primarily for engine and emissions diagnostics.
Do not assume it can diagnose:
-
ABS or braking systems
-
Airbags or supplemental restraint systems
-
Transmission-specific faults
-
Body-control modules
-
Manufacturer-specific electronic systems
-
Key programming or immobiliser functions
-
Service interval resets or advanced coding
These functions require suitable vehicle and tool support, and are outside the intended scope of this product unless explicitly confirmed for your vehicle.
Prefer a Wired Scanner?
The V519 is a physical handheld device. It is not a Bluetooth dongle and does not rely on a phone app.
If you want wireless connectivity, phone-based data logging or advanced manufacturer-specific diagnostics, another tool may be more suitable.

Who Is the V519 For?
DIY Car Owners
A useful starting point for drivers who want to read supported engine fault codes before deciding whether further investigation is necessary.
Used-Car Buyers
Reading stored codes and checking emissions readiness can provide additional information during a used-car assessment.
However, these checks cannot guarantee that a vehicle is fault-free. A professional inspection is still recommended.
Everyday Drivers
Keep a handheld code reader with your automotive tools so you can investigate a warning light when the need arises.
Automotive Enthusiasts
Suitable for basic engine diagnostic checks when the vehicle and required functions are supported.
Who Should Choose a Different Tool?
The V519 may not be the right choice if you:
-
Need comprehensive ABS, airbag or transmission diagnostics.
-
Require advanced manufacturer-specific functions.
-
Need key programming or electronic module coding.
-
Want wireless operation or a phone app.
-
Need to diagnose a fully electric vehicle's battery or motor systems.
-
Own a vehicle without a compatible OBD-II/EOBD port.
For these applications, look for a diagnostic tool that explicitly supports your vehicle and the systems you need to access.
V519 vs. Other Diagnostic Options

I am satisfied
I have only used it once this evening on mama’s 2014 prius, nothing wrong with it, i just wanted to see what this thing can do… well i’m impressed!! i’m a seasoned mechanic with 38years experience and just needed to grab something that will show me monitors and a code or two… fast was the key! this little scan tool is as cheap as they come i’ll not lie it’s not a tough shop tool however! the keys are crisp and precise the menu is bright and easy to read in the sun and dark.. it’s super fast! if i remember correctly there were two buttons to push to read codes same for the monitors it does have mode 6 but very limited info and mode 8 also just the basics it does have live data and i’ll have to play more to know how fast the refresh rate is but it’s ok to look at… you won’t catch a glitching sensor or anything but you’ll see if one is not plausible, open, shorted etc…. super cool cheap tool!!!!
